Senior 1st team qualify to join East Midlands Regional League

We are so proud of our first team who competed in the East Midlands Regional Qualifying tournament today (28th April).

In our second year of attempting to enter the next step of performance netball, the team were anxious but determined, after hitting a top five finish last year but failing to take a spot in the coveted league.
A bigger squad with more depth, and another year of experience and preparation led by Head Coach, Jenny Williams, gave the squad quiet confidence that the team would achieve a better result this year.

10 teams from across our local counties competed for the 2 spots in Division 3 of the Regional League, with 2 teams from the current season hoping to retain their place.

Hawks displayed some fantastic netball with good victories against Mollbuzzers, Fenland, KRL, Northants JM's, Brigg and Allestree. Bramcote and Derby put on some tough competition and Hawks slid just one goal behind both teams for a narrow loss in those games.

With other teams taking the win against Derby Roses and Bramcote, the results came down to the last match against Bridgford, and Hawks put out their strongest performance to secure a decisive win!

There were smiles, hugs and tears all round as the team were told their win had put them in 1st place, winning the tournament and securing entry into the East Midlands Regional League!

We are extremely proud of all the players who made Hawks history to take our club to a new level of competition we've not seen before. We'd also like to congratulate and thank our coaches and officials who were instrumental in the result.

We now look forward to the new challenge and 2024/25 season watching the Hawks 1st team represent the club in the first tier of performance netball in our region!
